About us
BTST is a full-metal writing-instrument and EDC manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, built on a metal-precision lineage that began in 1951 with watch-part machining and has run a precision factory since 1994. The path runs in three stages: precision machining — CNC turning, milling, grinding and surface finishing — from 1994; then OEM / ODM contract manufacturing for Japanese and international stationery brands; and since 2023, our own brand BTST, whose products carry our own intellectual property and patents. Quality management runs under ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems, and all 13 models in the current range carry a 10-year warranty. We build from 304 stainless steel and 6063 aluminum alloy using CNC one-piece and magnetic structures. The range covers the Dog Series pen-carry pen, Dabao innovative pen, Pu Series, Mermaid Series, Lipstick Pen (Shaohua Series), the Nine-Headed Bird IP-collaboration ballpoint, and the Pu Series calendar corporate gift set. Pens take a widely available miniG5 refill, so replacements are cheap and easy to find. We offer engraving, custom colors and corporate gift boxes for personal writing, gifting, corporate procurement and brand collaborations.

From precision machining, to contract manufacturing for other brands, to an own-brand house with our own patents — one production line, three identities.
- 1994
Precision manufacturing
Metal precision machining since 1994: CNC turning, milling, grinding and surface finishing. The roots go deeper — from 1951, our predecessors machined watch components: crowns, pushers, connectors, where tolerances are measured in hundredths of a millimetre. Over three decades as a factory, these hands learned tolerance and material itself — whether a pen can take shape begins with whether the metal can be tamed.
- OEM / ODM
Contract manufacturing
From parts to finished pens, we took on OEM and ODM projects for Japanese and international stationery brands: they brought the design and the spec, we turned it into a shippable product with tooling, CNC and quality control. That era left us close to obsessive about cost, lead time and consistency.
- 2023
Our own brand, BTST
In 2023 we went after the consumer market directly and founded BTST — from building to someone else’s standard to building to our own. The products carry our own intellectual property and patents: form, structure and colour are defined by us, and sold to the person who actually writes with them.

What is BTST, and how old is it?＋
BTST is an own brand founded in Shenzhen in 2023, sitting on a manufacturing lineage that began with watch parts in 1951 and has run a metal precision factory since 1994. Why 304 stainless steel?＋
304 stainless is dense, corrosion-resistant and a food-contact-safe grade, and it develops a natural patina with long-term handling. We use it for the barrel and structural parts; 6063 aluminum alloy is used where weight matters.
Is a full-metal pen too heavy?＋
No. The barrel body is 304 stainless for feel and durability, while grip and exterior parts use 6063 aluminum alloy to cut weight — substantial in hand, not tiring to carry.
Are the refills standard? How costly are replacements?＋
Yes. Every pen takes a widely available miniG5 refill, so replacements are cheap and easy to find — no proprietary consumables.
Do you offer engraving and custom colors?＋
Yes. We customize engraving, body colors and corporate gift boxes for employee benefits, client gifts and brand collaborations. Submit a custom inquiry and we will quote a plan and lead time.
How long until the patina forms? Does it oxidize?＋
The patina develops naturally with use and handling, typically over weeks to months, becoming more personal over time. Surface oxidation stays extremely thin, does not affect writing, and can be polished back at any time.
